About the Club

Built by Owners, For Owners

The Cessna R/TR182 Type Club is a volunteer-run community dedicated to the retractable-gear 182 family. We connect owners and pilots worldwide, sharing maintenance knowledge, operational tips, and a passion for these remarkable aircraft.

Our Mission

Sharing Knowledge That Keeps These Aircraft Flying

The R182 and TR182 are exceptional aircraft — the only retractable-gear variants of the venerable 182 family — but their unique systems demand specialized knowledge. That's why this club exists.

We gather real-world maintenance insights, STC documentation, and operational lessons from owners who live with these airplanes every day. Our technical articles, forum discussions, and member events are all aimed at one goal: helping you fly your aircraft safely and confidently.

Membership is open to any owner, pilot, or enthusiast with an interest in the R182/TR182. Come join the community on our forum, share your experiences, and help us build the definitive knowledge base for this aircraft type.

Along with a love for high-wing Cessnas, he’s got a passion for gentleman-level aerobatics. He’s been the proud owner of a 2008 American Champion Super Decathlon and is also building a Christen Eagle II.

Matt earned his Private Pilot Certificate in June 2016. Since then, he’s added a tailwheel endorsement, an Instrument Rating, Commercial Rating and currently working on his CFI.
